When anything negative is said about the lds church, mormons immediately talk about it being anti-mormon, hateful or religious persecution. I think people have a right to know the bad things we've experienced about mormonism and not just the one sided everything-is-just-wonderful view the church offers.

If an organization scammed or lied to you, wouldn't you want to warn others?

If mild criticism is persecution, what about the anti-Catholicism and saying all other churches "only have a portion of the truth" I have heard all my life from Mormons?

The hair-trigger playing of the persecution card is getting tiresome.

In mormonism, anything that is not a glowing endorsement is bitter opposition.

What a bigot he was.

And God forbid that you can actually back up your opinions with hard evidence.

If you tell lies about the Mormons they laugh at you:

". . . then they throw the woman off the top of the temple into the Great Salt Lake."

But if you tell the truth and back it up with hard evidence they hate you.

“In the time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” George Orwell, 1984

I could Never get how TBMs brush aside the Lies & half-lies that people tell to 'promote' the church.

Hinckley, Kopischke, Joe, BY...

I don't recall that TSM has voiced anything other than platitudes, however.

The church helping members is a popular topic on this website. While there are plenty of stories about people not getting help, people on the board will also be honest and say when they have been helped and their stories are not censored. Compare that to the church where you will never hear a story about someone asking their bishop for help and being turned away. Such a story would be seen as not faith promoting, as tearing down testimonies and anti-mormon.

I'm sure the GAs long for the good old days, when they controlled all the information that was available to members and the public.
