That's the line from a Bud Light commercial showing the superstitious things jocks and fans do.

The same would apply to religion, no? The difference is, sports keep stats and scores. It's easy to tell whether your lucky socks worked.

But religious people can rationalize whatever results they want. For example, you daub olive oil on someone and mutter an incantation and they get well, therefore the magic is real. But if the person doesn't get well it's because God had His reasons, or someone's faith wasn't pure enough. It's never that the magic is baloney.

Yeah, and with the most important parts of religion, you don't find out that they didn't work until after you've died.
