Holy Hell, that was a 7.7 earthquake that was the trigger. Having lived in notorious earthquake country, that gives me a chill.

Holding good thoughts for you and watching it on the live stream.

We're on the fourth wave, usually the biggest, but it isn't very big. Looks like Hawaii has been spared a damaging event, altho the official warning is still on.

I live along the Gulf of Mexico, and we are considered extremely low risk of a tsunami. Because of geological conditions along the floor of the Gulf, it just isn't considered all that high of a possibility. That said, if one were to ever happen, there are absolutely no advanced early warnings. We would just all get taken out to sea. Whenever a tsunami is in the news, I start to worry about this, even though logically I know it is unlikely.

I live on Vancouver Island and I didn't feel a blinking thing!

Kind of good timing on Mother Nature's part though as we just had a province-wide earthquake drill ten days ago. Good way to drive the 'be ready' point home!

My friend who lives in Terrace felt the shaking, and thought it was her very large dog pushing her chair. She found out about the quake later on fb.

Fortunately the tsunami is so far not as bad as anticipated.

I live on an island in Puget sound. I was out walking the dog. Didn't feel anything.

Fortunately, not as bad as first feared.

Hope everybody's OK.

Does it make me get ready for The Big One? Not so far but I'm getting close...

I'm ready for The Big One but need to get my earthquake preparedness in order! ;-)

But seriously, last night's quake has rattled me enough that today I'm going to replenish my emergency stash of water, food, etc...

Unlikely, unless earthquake frequency going down slightly is part of that ;)
