We'll leave the "t-word" out of this. And I also will not make reference to the other times that you were not asked to preach (tee hee) to people.

What's the point?

Lots of points. Lots of posters. Lots of "ways" to recover if recovery can be achieved for some of us. This is a forum for many different people to share different points of view for different reasons because different people need different things.

That may seem a little Sesame Street, but it's the truth. I need a place to vent/rage/mock/destroy/gain insight/learn something new/tell jokes/seek attention/and a myriad of other things.

I like this board for lots of different reasons, and each reason is important in its own way.

If you or anyone else who might actually be interested in this question wants to know, there is a section (two now) of exit stories. You'll find some great and terrible things in that (those) sections. Everything from people being molested by church leaders, to being abused by members, to attempted suicide, to broken marriages, to disease and death.

All caused in part or in whole by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

When someone comes and asks "what's the point?" It seems odd. It seems like someone hasn't done any reading whatsoever-hasn't even glanced at some of these posts to see what posters have been through, or what they might be feeling.

But even looking at the exit stories isn't a complete view of this board either. Just looking at the horrible things that people have gone through might give one a view as to why there is so much venom being spewed everyday on the board-but that's not an accurate description of the board either.

Some of the best humor has been shared on this board too. As stated before, people heal in different ways, and need different things on different days. If anyone truly lurks for awhile, they will find both rage and laughter. Empathy and debate.

This board is here to share a great many things. If you want to be a part of it, all you have to do is: share, or let everyone else share unimpeded.
