God created an entire fake history of the universe, including events that never actually took place.

Because clearly god is an A- hole. Think about it, at one point he got so pissed at the entire planet, that he decided to drown everybody except Noah. Dude has problems

Maybe "God" has nothing to do with it

Don't you do the same thing in your dreams every night--create an entirely fake universe, including a presumed history that never took place. Those dream mountains aren't millions of years old, created by volcanic action. That old man was never a child. Even the dream-figure "you" is not really who you are. And yet these are seldom questioned.

But if you have a lucid dream, you can realize it's all dream-stuff, apparently real but made by your own mind. And you do this for hours every day.
