Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU, Jacob, for a one-sentence summary of what I was trying to say in my posts about men vs women. Sigh. I got so sick of my pedestal, my butt hurt. It's no fun up there; the men forget who you are. You become a hymoginized, sanitized saint instead of a woman.
1. Mormonism confuses "fear" with "respect." To them, it's the same thing. Mormon boys are taught to fear women because we will tempt you into thinking dirty thoughts. Nevermind the fact that you'd still think them even if we wore burkas.
2. When you put a woman up on a pedestal, she has no choice but to look down on you. No woman respects a man who worships her and yet treats her like a delicate little flower. We do respect men who treat us as equal human beings with feelings. We are not perfect, righteous, spiritual beings. We are messy people who make mistakes, just like men.
