How many TBMs are simply trying to out-do their peers to appear more mormon than their neighbors. Call it competitive religion.

They don't really think about their beliefs, whether it makes sense or not. They're just caught up in a wacko desire to "win" and thereby win approval and praise. Isn't that what all TBMs really want?

What a waste of time and effort...pathetic and sad.

My guess is that this is rare. For most I would guess it's less of a competition to win and a symptom of the inferiority complex that Mormonism imposes to be "good enough." IMO, The rat race of being perceived at being good enough is part of the brainwashing of Mormonism that play on human nature.
