Have you caught yourself doing this?

My kids and I were having a meeting earlier this week and they were not paying attention. I almost said (before I caught myself), "Quiet, I'm the Priesthood holder here, show me some respect!"

Have any of you found yourself in a similar situation?

last week I took family pictures for my brother in laws extended family of TBMs...After one particular setting I proclaimed "That will do" in an eerily familiar voice - a small hush came over the crowd and I got a look from his wife's mom - I thought it was hilarious but saved my ROTFL moment until after I left.

No even back when I was a faithful Mormon. Maybe that was one of the many signs I wasn't cut out for LDS life. I never swung my priesthood around. Never thought it was the right thing to do. Probably because others were doing it to me all the time. So you were one of those jerks, rd4jesus? ;^)

I guess I still am one of those jerks. Trying to use some sort of authority to control others. I've admitted in other posts that major codependent. I'm working on it. I don't want to be a jerk. Maybe I should have said, "I'm your dad and I would appreciate it if you would be more respectful of me when I'm talking."

I only do that when I want Crystal to laugh at me derisively, especially since I resigned from the church many years ago. I'm afraid a booger-picking 12-year old deacon has more divine power in his little pinky than I have in my whole body. :-)
