Spencer doesn't seem to understand that some people do in fact find the meetings boring and *gasp* they're allowed to think it's boring just like he's allowed to feel like it's riveting or whatever.
When I was actively participating in Catholicism, I sang in choir at Mass. A lot of the choir's favorite songs were not liked by the congregation. And a lot of the congregation favorites were not our favorites to lead.
I had a priest once who read stories he wrote as sermons. Some people loved it, some people hated it. He'd also do humorous sermons, serious sermons, daily life sermons, faith-based sermons, and more. After church we'd go to fellowship, this is where we do donuts and coffee and socialize, and, *gasp* not everybody liked every sermon.
Spencer's just towing the line. "You'll like it because we say you will."
As a TBM, I just always EXPECTED the meetings to be boring. That's the dues you pay for your reward of eternal, Celestial bliss--it's the false churches where you go to be entertained.
