I am surprised that for a church as small as the Mormon church, so many of its young members are jettisoned the church and became stars.

I have the following who were either LDS or raised Mormon:

Ryan Gosling
Amy Adams
Aaron Elkhart
Christina Aguilera
Julianne Hough

Please add to this.

Scientology has nothing on Mormonism for stars except that the Mormon church can't keep them in the organization.

All 4 of the above are also Canadians.

Is Randy ex or just inactive? I knew one of his other kids who is TBM and apparently he'd attend when visiting.

From "About Famous Mormons," under "Frequently Asked Questions":

"Randy Bachman emailed 'Famous Mormons' and said he is no longer a Mormon."

I remember seeing Amy Adams back in "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" days... she was in that episode where the family cultishly convinces all the women that they turn into demons when they are 21. It wasn't true, but the men were spinning lies to keep the women out of school and careers to stay home and take care of them. I kid you not. Ironic, eh?

Don't forget about Alice Cooper. I don't know if this story is true or not, but the rumor when I was in middle school was, he dyed his garments red & wore them on stage during a concert.

No Cooper is not LDS or ever was but there is a connection..

Alice Cooper was born with the name Vincent Damon Furnier in Detroit, Michigan. His father was a preacher by the name of Ether Moroni Furnier for The Church of Jesus Christ, based in Monongahela, Pennsylvania. Cooper’s grandfather Thurman Sylvester Furnier served as an apostle for the church. The church is also known as the Bickertonite church, and has roots with Sidney Rigdon.

Randy Bachman left the church and has been known to cite the Indian DNA Issue. Tal left before that over all of the issues mentioned here. I believe Randy's ex-wife, Lorayne and his other kids (by her) have all stayed in the church from what I've seen, although that could have changed by now.

it's fun to come up with all of these names. But none of them are TBM anymore. That should give everyone a clue. I thought it wasn't possible to be successful unless you had the gospel in your life? Things that make ya go hmmmmm.....
