"born of goodly parents"

"and it came to pass"

"exceeding" as an adjective, eg. "of exceeding worth"

"spoke under the Spirit"

"thus saith the Lord"

"silenced" (as in removed from priesthood in the RLDS tradition, usually for heresy against the church's doctrines)

"emblems" for the Communion fare of grape juice and whole-wheat bread cubes

I remember the prescribed prayers for Communion by heart. They were the only part of RLDS liturgy that never changed. Well, except for the boring sermons. LOL Except one time ...

In 1982, I was attending the Enoch Hill congregation in Independence, Missouri when Ken Chase (I think that was his name), a World Church guy, came to preach. This woman got up in the middle of his sermon (which was about the then-controversial "Faith to Grow" program) and started screaming that he was preaching false doctrine. About half the congregation walked out. I was singing in the choir that morning, and our choir director gave all of us a look that more than communicated "Make a move and you die." LOL We stayed put.
