There are SO many dangerous areas of the country in which ward/stake buildings are located. Ex. There is a building in Los Angeles that has a chain-link fence surrounding the parking lot and the members were asked to not linger in the parking lot after services because they are not safe there.
There is a ward building in Texas that has tall shrubs surrounding the lawn area prior to entering the chapel. The shrubs were initially planted as a one-foot-tall boarder around the flower beds but grew seriously taller. I told a BP there that this was not safe and suggested that the landscaping be redone. The project was never undertaken.
The local ward building is such a stink bomb between the bacterial-infested jute walls to the bathrooms with only God know what is growing and multiplying there, anyone given a tour would just cringe.
Between the safety factors and the dirt and grime, what makes the MO church feel this recent revelation (was it a revelation or was he just speaking as a man?) would be enticing for membership growth is beyond my imagination.
However, I have been garnering some pertinent questions should I be given a tour:
Why does it smell so badly in your church? Don't you have janitorial service?
