Elder Berry's thread yesterday reminded me of a song we used to sing on our mission
Was this widespread? Did others sing this?

Let me tell ya story bout a man named Joe
Wanted join a church, didn't know which way to go
Then one day he was prayin on his knees
And a ray of light came down through the trees
God the Father that is...Jesus Christ

Next thing you know ol' Joe's a [don't remember]
The kin folk said "Joe move away from here!"
They said [don't remember--Illinois?] is the place you oughtta be
So he loaded up the wives and he moved westerly...

We sung it to the kids once and got booted out of the family's home for mocking sacred things...

Never heard it, but for the sake of rhyming you could replace [don't remember] with "Profiteer"
