Honestly, who confesses for that. He had to wait almost a year to go back out. The church leaders tried to scare him straight saying that In Ted Bundy's final interview, he confessed that his sex addiction to PORN and masturbation was what changed who he was and made him into a serial killer of woman.

What a joke!!! I was always told that it was none of my business and that nobody knows anyone sent home and humiliated for doing what he did. Well... I was finally told what he got sent home for a couple of months ago.

The only reason Bundy said those things was because he was trying to manipulate the interviewer. He was trying to scapegoat pornography as the reason for his actions. He was saying that PORN caused his actions, instead of his desires causing the addiction to porn. Cart before the horse, as they say.

If he goes back out, TBMs will RAVE about him for being a story of redemption. If he leaves the church, people will shut up about him, and when his name comes up in conversation, they will feel disappointed.

People forget that Ted Bundy was a sociopath and an extremely manipulative man who never to the truth about anything. He was very good at "cold reading" people and telling them exactly what they wanted to hear.

Bundy, the great masturbater, put on a great bravado but he was scared shitless of dying. His porn 'confessions' were a desperate attempt to stay off the electric chair. He was prepared to dribble out what he thought his interviewers wanted to hear, ever so slowly, s l o w l y...all to keep breathing. My three roommates in the MTC turned the pillowcases into togas. You can only imagine the embarrassment when a security guard opened our door and asked us what was going on. So yes, I can testify that those pillowcases have had direct contact with male genitals (however, they were disposed of, because they cut arm and neck holes so they could wear it).

Does anybody else besides Darkside and I know others sent home from their mission for jerking off? RFM poll to see how prevalent this sort of sick and twisted spiritual abuse is.

My MP never asked me about it. When my Sr Companion with previous MP was asked. "Elder do you have a problem with masturbation." He answered "not at all, I have no problem with it whatsoever!" He kept his integrity and told the truth. He had no problem masturbating, it worked perfectly every time! :)

LDS, Inc. does not have an official policy on it other than to say it's bad and it has something to do with breaking the law of chastity. It's always been a bit murky.

Whether this is deliberate is hard to say. Contributing to the murkiness is the fact that 99% of males have a (ongoing) history with it. Their own Mormon-driven shame is always just below the surface. This causes the nice Mormon leaders to avoid the subject as much as possible and the sociopathic ones to needle every detail out of those unfortunate enough to confess it.

LDS, Inc.'s lack of specifics affords the opportunity for the wacky leaders to totally abuse its members with their masturbation obsession (like sending missionaries home early for example). I don't think many recover from the amount of guilt and shame piled on them in such circumstances.

The guilt works like a charm to keep members on the hook. When we "don't feel the spirit" or when the Mormon promises of "living the gospel" fail to deliver it's always our fault for "not living the commandments". LDS, Inc. takes a natural and benign behavior like masturbation and uses to create an internal struggle. Then they just sit back and collect the money.

And that folks is religion. First you sell the vulnerable the "problem" that they didn't even realize they had, and then you sell them the "solution". This "solution" also involves emptying the pockets into the coffers. What a scam!

Yeah, I don't know. I was a full on TBM before leaving for my mission. And, hell yeah, I petted the one-eyed snake as often as the next guy. But after I got into the MTC, I stopped, thinking that maybe I should give it a break for a while.

After about two weeks in the MTC I wasn't learning the language as quickly as others (might have been because I was not a very good student), so I confessed to my MTC overlord that I'd masterbated a little bit before my mission. He made me write a letter to my bishop back at home and send it to him. I'm not sure that I got a reply, but that was the end of it.

I still didn't learn the language as well as some of the others, and not masterbating didn't last very long -- probably only a couple months after I got to Japan.

I feel that I need to say this as every time a read it a scream inside. Masturbation is NOT A PROBLEM!! Do not screw up these 'kids' by making them have SO MUCH guilt.
And for the record - I am pretty sure it does NOT determine your sexual preferences either!!
