Let's say it's the year 2220 and FTL travel has been around for a decade. The future profit, Joseph Z Smith, makes a prediction "The lord has revealed to me that we are to paketh our stuffeth and leave, yea, even to go away from Earth until the return of Christ so we may continue his work in the Universeth (or something like that)."

So, lot's of LDS peeps leave Earth because, hey, a profit spoke! They leave Earth and come across planet Alma 6 and find a nice spot on continent Nephi. A colony is established.

How do YOU, the reader, think this would continue?

I predict polygamy/polyandry to return faster than Moses saying 'Holy burning bush.'

14 year olds (or younger) would quickly be among the ranks to be married after another revelation by the profit: "the good lord commanded us in power to marry the young and fertile. no really.. he sent a messenger, even an angel with a flaming sword and blah blah blah. And what about young men? Oh yeah.. uhh they are good for the mission field as well as ugly errr unsuitable young women... yeah that's it."

It would also be easier for the LDS peeps to send missionaries to other colonies in space...
