I once heard about a study done that showed that in lesbians, it was more likely for their ring finger to be longer than their pointer finger. Which is more typical for males. Females usually have a longer pointer finger, than their ring finger.

I found it interesting because I am lesbian and yes my ring finger is longer....
Which is longer for you all? Lesbians, and straits?

Lesbians with long fingers are referred to as 'hung'

I've also heard you can learn about your future by reading palms.

For the record, straight, female, my ring finger is longer than my pointer finger.

Interesting! I have never really paid much attention to my fingers before, but on the right hand, the ring finger is slightly shorter, while on the left hand, it's slightly longer. Wonder what that means. :) I'm hetero.

The ratio of the index to the ring finger is affected by a surge in testosterone in utero. The more testosterone, the more likely someone is to have a longer ring finger relative to the index finger.

Women with a longer ring finger tend to be Lesbians more often or, if straight, to prefer more masculine men. Men with a long ring finger are more aggressive, etc. There is a whole range of characteristics that are affected by the same factors as caused the unusual ratio.

Mine are equal. Intellectually, I'd loved to be bisexual and explore lesbian sex. I've even attempted it. But I can not deny that groinally (ha?!) I'm 99% hetero.

How about toes? Me and several males in my family have a middle toe longer than the big toe. My fingers are heteronormative:-)

Hetero with longer pointy finger here. So I guess I'm typical. Maybe its benefit is to point better and say, "Where have you been?!"

I think I must be mixed up. My ring fingers are longer than my index fingers. I am hetero but can be submissive.

My ring finger is slightly longer on both hands. I don't necessarily want to label myself, but I'm on the pansexual side(s?) of sexuality. My BF is a very masculine man- the straightest guy I've ever known.

A little ironic, right?

A lower digit ratio, meaning that the ring finger is longer relative to the index finger, inclines women towards 1) Lesbianism, 2) an attraction to more masculine men, or 3) some combination of those. There are a lot of women like you.

And remember, we are talking about probabilities. Unusual ratios increase the probability of certain behavioral characteristics. If the ratio of Lesbians to women in general (and I am making these numbers up) is 10%, then the ratio for women with longer ring fingers might be 12% or 14% or 16%. I don't know the real ratios, but this is but one factor in the very complex matter of sexual identity.

Other characteristics with which a longer ring finger are correlated are more assertive behavior, more argumentative conversational style, better mathematical ability, better sense of direction, better performance in competitive sports, etc.

Thanks for that comment. Probabilities! Which means - doesn't apply to everyone.

From the front, on my left hand, the ring finger looks slightly longer, but from the back they look even. On my right hand the pointer finger is clearly longer from front and back. Not sure what that means. I am hetero.

Significantly longer ring finger, straight, female.

My ring finger and pointer finger are the same length. At 66 and single, after having been married for 31 very long years,
I would self identify as asexual rather than bisexual. There was a time however, when I was definitely hetero, which is how I got into the really long marriage in the first place.

Same size on left hand. Longer ring finger on right hand. Definitely hetero, but have a hard time making platonic women friends - unless they are lesbian.

As a male with a ring finger nearly as long as my index finger this thread has answered so many questions;

Why am I above average size,
Why do I have the ability to induce multiple o's,
Why do I like women so much?

I'm a lesbian! Thank you all!!!

Closer2fine have to say after reading the title I couldn't get into this thread fast enough heh

Anyways to answer I'm lesbian and my ring finger is longer..
If only I'd had this info prior to my 1st marriage could have saved everyone involved a lot of heartache...

hmm, being a straight male, I notice my ring finger and pointer finger are the same length. I can only conclude that IF I were a female, I would be gay. Which is of course, true.
