It has occurred to me as I'm making rebuilding my life after leaving TSCC that part of the reason that people stay in is the same reason they shop at a big box store. You can get everything you need in one place.

A person needs friends, you don't need to decide who to connect with, they are assigned.

A person needs a mate, well, the field has been narrowed, choose from these pre-approved candidates.

A person needs a high purpose, there is a theology here that you will never fully understand, because just as you think you've learned the mysteries of life and the mind of God, God will change his mind. Your spiritual quest will be eternal.

A person needs community, the boundaries have been drawn.

A person needs a sense of purpose, here's a list of political and social agendas that are suitable.

A person needs to give back, here's a form for that, just write the amount in the proper place and then write that check.

A person needs to stay in shape, there's a commandment for that and the ward members are watching your weight.

A person needs family, you're hooked up for eternity.

A person needs mental stimulation, there are several books and videos on the approved list, there is even an approved book store.

If you give your whole life it will be used. Every moment, every thought, every action dictated. Within the walls of that big box you are a consumed consumer.

This makes a great deal of sense.

Thank you. :-)

A person needs a "coffin" like existence. Sign up for the ultimate big box!
