This article makes an interesting point about our beliefs (delusions) shaping our reality, and why it is so hard for use to see opposite of what we believe, despite it being literally in our face!

Delusional thinking is fascinating to me. Not sure where the line is drawn between the common phenomenon that our beliefs influence perception. Einstein said we can only observe (in the universe) what we are prepared to believe. So that even in science, the observer cannot discover what their beliefs foreclose. That's all of us. And then there are people whose internal delusions manifest in what they perceive from outside stimulus.

I could spend hours just listening to crazy people.

Human psychology in general is enormously fascinating to me.

Three books that I have read in the past 5 years, that have made an enormous impact on my understanding of "Why we do, or think, or act, or believe as we do":

Crazy is as crazy does. One person's crazy is another generation's genius.

thanks for the list. Looks like there are Ted Talks on youtube by Christopher Chabris and Daniel Gilbert. I'll listen to them. I've read the book by Dan Ariely.

I've read a lot about it too, because I want to avoid being deluded as much as possible. I got fooled big-time by that Mormonism BS, and I don't want to repeat that mistake.
