Comments section posting by John Roberts
http://patriotupdate.com/articles/bible-truths-withstand-test-of-time-cynicism-of-modern-world/

I wonder if they guy is a centenarian Mormon? I wish I knew how he thinks Google has "gone too far"???

Thoughts? Is it in the context of his comment and I'm just too dumb to see it?

I can't even reply.

I got stuck with the advertisement selling thousands of rounds of ammunition for pennies.

I must not have been "doodling" that day. Easter never was a big deal as a Mormon. We looked for crappy jelly beans and got a coloring book or a cheap toy growing up. At least it was something but not a replacement for feeling loved by my parents let alone Jesus.

Yes, in the 21st century, let's look to a book written thousands of years ago by various goat-herding primitives to learn how we should think and act. Makes perfect sense.

You better start believing in it. He must be speaking of the musical.

My sentiments exactly. Why that book continues to capture so many is a mystery to me. As a TBM it was easy for me to blow it off...the whole "translated correctly" escape clause.

My main objection to the bible was precisely what you stated: How the hell do these no technology having, pre-industrial/information age tribesman, bass-ackward, patriarchal, fundamentalists know what is best for me 2000 years into the future?

The bible made zero sense to me excepting a few of the Jesus teachings about love one another and accept everyone as your brother. The rest of it is useless to me.

John Roberts finds out he is not the center of universe, and it ticks him off.

"Google has gone too far??" That's like saying the dictionary has gone too far, or the library card catalog has gone too far....

From a comment of his at the bottom of the page:

"Wait and see. The Book of Mormon is rapidly becoming *more* plausible as well, not less. Once people began looking in the right place, the evidence has been astounding. The demise of the Nephite people is depressingly familiar to us today, and we may share their fate. Read it for yourself. The Lord will always provide evidence, but never *proof*. Google’s gone too far, and I won’t use it again. Jesus is revered by people all over the world. Cesar Chavez was a despot. As Isaiah said, “Woe unto those who call good evil and evil good.”

"Cesar Chavez was a despot"

Lol. They obviously have no idea who they are talking about.

I loved this part of the comment. It was so myopically awesome! Like our holy book is so evident when it has less plausibility and evidence than The Bible which is what drives the site Brother Roberts posted to!

What a tool. Shazaam!! For the last 180 or so years, we've all just been looking in the wrong place.

Silly rabbit.

They didn't say Marry Christmas on Christmas. I personally do think it's a conscience choice for Google to not recognize Christmas since they put up doodles for Kwanzaa, Hanuka, they basically do every holiday but the do the PC happy holidays instead of merry Christmas.

I don't see why they don't just say merry Christmas, or happy Easter. It's their choice, but it seems silly to me.

Hannukah is not a "PC holiday". It is a historical holiday.

As for Google mentioning Cesar Chavez day & not Easter, this year Easter just happened to fall on Cesar Chavez day.

& yes, Google recognizes Christmas.

This article made me facepalm

The article is full of blatant falsehoods. Two off the top of my head are the claim that nothing in the Bible has been disproved by archaeology (the global flood has), and the claim that Herod was involved in Jesus' crucifixion (he died a few years before Jesus was even born).
