(I hope my exclamation mark in the subject is appreciated. LOL)

As a nevermo, mormons seem very "enthusiastic". Whenever I see a woman's blog with a lot of exclamation marks and great enthusiasm, I peg it as a mormon blog. I am often right. Why is that? Also, any notes or cards I have ever received from my mormon relative are always enthusiastic (lots of "wonderful" "amazing" and "love" words). It always seems so put on...like they are trying too hard.

So, is this taught somewhere? Why does it seem so common? Again, I am seeing this a lot on the missionary blogs so it has to be coming from somewhere.

Girls of all religions and backgrounds seem to do this. Most women outgrow it when they realize that it makes them look immature and unprofessional. But if you never work professionally around adultse or are submerged in a culture that discourages female independence, mentally you don't make it past the exclamation point stage.

It's not only that, but i've read several that overused Hahaha!!!

Every other sentence seems to be ended like that. Hahaha!!!

It makes them more righteous!!!! And happy!!!! Because if you have the gospel, you're happy!!!! The gospel is awesome!!!! Blessings!!!!

I agree... it's a chick thing. My wife writes like this and it drives me nuts!

Virtually all of them include the word "amazing" several times over. Some even use them more than once in the same sentence.

Can I give examples here?

Female immaturity is prized by the Mormon culture.

Proficiency in the English language -- not so much.

I thought it was a "chick thing," too!!!!!!! But, I went and read some male mishie, blogs (totally AMAZING and SUPER spiritual!!!!) And they did the same thing, too!!!!! Just totally LOVE those kids they're brainwashing!!!! Isn't that AWESOME?!?!?!?! hahahahaha!!!!!!! Gag.

Me thinks the real reason for the exclamation marks is they give the mishie girls something to do and type about in lieu of no dunkings to write home about!!!

Perhaps, it is a case of "protesting too enthusiastically!!!", masking how they really feel, but do not dare voice out there by themselves---lonely, homesick, tired of being told NO we are not interested in your silly church, and realizing that if this is the best two years of their lives they are in deep doo doo.!!!!!!!!

I think the more exclamation points the more in denial they are. "Me thinks thou doth protest too much."
