What a lying crock of Shiz.

A new respect for Abraham Lincoln? Sure doesn't look like a log cabin to me.

It would take me adding new additions and expanding the building to make my home worth even much more than it is worth let alone doubling or even quintupling the value which would still be 1 million dollars less than the value of his properties.

"Much of the work he has enjoyed over the years has been on his home and property. President and Sister Packer have lived in the same home for about 50 years. He described the property as something no one seemed to have wanted back when they purchased it. Today, visitors can't help but admire their home and its surrounding grounds. President Packer pointed out, however, that the look of today came about through half a century of work, bit by bit.

They've planted trees, shrubs and gardens. Asked if he split the rails for the fence surrounding his yard, he replied, "Yes, and when I got through I had a new respect for Abraham Lincoln." (The American president was known as "the rail splitter.")"

Ah, shucks. I'm just an old work horse who likes puttering around in my garden instead of with my little factory.

Reality......

He is an ego maniac who gloried in building a shrine to himself.... that is a better description of his home. The plaque leading to his yard says "Boyd K Packer". Every inch of his house he has covered in paintings and carvings of animals that he made.

His wife and children? Chop liver.

He said he could not afford a home when he was first made an apostle.

But he never explained how he was finally able to get one.
Of course, most of us can guess what happened.

BKP quote:

""I had nothing to do with it ..."

He was right about that. It was all our tithing dollars.

"I had nothing to do with it ..."

He was speaking not as a man but as a god.

Only the best for The Brethren. Gather not up treasures of the earth but of the heavens line upon line.

Next time you are among TBMs during conference and all the GAs are
on the stand, pause for a moment as you walk by the TV set and
say, "hey, look at all the millionaires."

In Packer's defense,he had to have a home which could support "The Church" if all those liberal sissies in the quorums ever destroyed "The work of the Lord."

http://www.stayfamily.org/showmedia.php?mediaID=265&all=1
"In these threatening times, he pointed out that if all the families were organized and functioning as units of the Church under righteous patriarchal priesthood authority, the rest of the Church could be destroyed or made ineffective and the work of the Lord would continue to go on in the homes of the Church."
