Okay, so there have been what, a bzillion films and television episodes of all flavors aired in the last fifty years?

I think this excerpt from the article says it all:

"Throughout the 2012 campaign, LDS leaders and members were interviewed by many media outlets, making the term 'Mormon' a buzzword that has remained in headlines ever since."

They are working so hard to keep the "Mormon Moment" alive. But they are about as important to the American public as is Scientology, and they can't stand that.

Yes, "a buzzword." Right. "Byword," be like. As in the BoM prediction of "...they shall become a hiss and a byword." (Again, the fabricated BoM actually nails Mormonism in all its predictions.) And if one is not familiar with the word "byword," it means "notorious."

That is kind of an embarrassing article. 17 mentions, none of them really complimentary. I haven't even heard of several of those shows.

The one for star trek is really reaching. They are talking about a drug and not LDS in anyway.

No "Simpsons" (two separate episodes mention polygamy and underage marriage)?

I know, where's Paint Your Wagon"? That wasn't just a mention of Mormons, it was the subplot of the movie. And "Latter Days," and "Napoleon Dynamite," and "September Dawn" and "Fletch" and "Angels in America," and, well, all those times Stephen Colbert lovingly mentions Mormons?

I loved the sketch on SNL during the SLC winter olympics, where Ayckroyd and someone (Hanks?) were LDS mishies skiing along next to Poehler, I believe, as a downhill competitor. So funny, even had polygamy, as they tried to get her to "commit" while screaming downhill. Lawlz!

Actually there's about 10 episodes of the Simpson's that mention Mormons - mostly not flattering. I would love to see a montage of them. anyone?

How about that last clip, they show two missionaries at the door but no name tags. I've noticed this before in shows. Do they not want to cross that line or something?

I just think most nevermos or people with limited experience with mormons don't realize the nametags are an important part of the uniform. They just think of kids in short-sleeved white Oxfords and ties on bikes.

My favorite was the one where Homer Simpson is watching a TV news show show featuring Kent Brockman, something about a miracle dog. Then Brockman says, "And now a message from the Church of the Latter-day Saints." And then the dog barks out the Mormon message. Homer says, "That dog can do anything!"

Now let's list all of the references to Catholicism in TV and film and compare the list.

Scooby Doo 2 has all of them get caught in Peter Boyle's front-door-trap with some Girl Scouts and a pair of missionaries.

There was also an episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond" where his brother gets involved with a cult, and his dad asks, "How many wives do you get?"

A show back in the 1990s I believe--"Yes, Dear." They had an episode with mormon missionaries and they had them do some house painting.

Funny. I'm watching the pilot for New Girl and they just had a Mormon joke.

Zooey Deschanel's character is stood up at a restaurant and the waitress is asking her to give up the table. Just then her 3 new male roommates run into the restaurant shouting about being her dates. When pressed about it by the waitress one of them says,

"Yeah. We're her boyfriends. We're reverse Mormons. One man just isn't enough for her."

How come they skipped jokes like that?
