I wonder if I promise to stop writing my blog if the church will refund my six-figs of donations.

You hear that LDS Corporation? You can buy anything with money. I don't have sufficient for my needs. Let's talk deal!

Have them cover travel expenses, that will stop the talk of coming in person

This from Church HQ in the UK. I told them that I'm not travelling 300 miles to give this request in person so please deal with it. They've forwarded my request but still want me to go to the church in person. Nada, niet, nien.

Yeah, F that. They want to try and reconvert you, but if you have to go in person I would go to the door and give three distinct taps with a mallet, and when they open the door, say:

Briggy, having been honest and thoughful in all things, desires further distance from TSCC and a refund by conversing with the the guy who controls the check book.

They did not require you to travel 300 miles to hand in your tithing did they?

If we could get it back, I'd want it back with interest!

People will have to work to make this happen and several people might be told "no" for a while.

If they persist and ares successful then others will be able to request a link to a form and instructions on how to file a refund request.

Until then, there is work being done on the matter.

This is sounding very encouraging.
30 years with interest! That will do nicely.
Please keep us informed, thank-you.

Kinda jealous being not on your side of the pond with all that now looms.

You Brits do warm my heart to see you exercising your not inconsiderable legal rights.

We yanks have no idea how restrained we really are when it comes to uh I don't know, such silly things as "freedom from religion".

Go girl ! :o)
