I remember as a young Mormon being told that Howard Stern was basically the equivalent of the devil.

Now that I've seen the light, I love listening to his interviews. He's so intelligent and interviews some of the most fascinating people... I just love it!

Anyone else feel this way about Howard? Or any other similar stories?

Howard is the greatest! I didn't know much about him until his first book came out in 1993. I was at BYU for my last year and ironically it was my TBM sister who bought me the book for christmas. Started listening to him after moving back home to Chicago after graduation. But have become somewhat obsessed after he moved to Sirius. Now I listen to every minute of every show!

I've thought he was a little too full of himself to suit me. And I refuse to activate the sat radio on my vehicles (hate paying for radio), so I don't listen to his program.

Stern is a master showman.

Had his way with some of the Osmonds as I recall.

Made Donny swear on live media that he had never jerked off.

Classic it was.

That being said Howard basically fell off my attention screen when I began to see him as a jewish Joseph of the airwaves.

Smut sells so it is said.

Stern's movie "Private Parts" is crude and laugh-out-loud hilarious. I begged my husband to watch it with me for years. Finally during an overnight hotel stay in Pocatello, Idaho, we watched it on Amazon (I mean, geez, what else is there to do in Pokee!).

He.Loved.It.

Sacha Baron Cohen is equally crude (if not worse), yet ingeniously funny as well.

Like many of us, I grew up hearing how bad and crass he was and what a horrible movie Private Parts was. Then I watched it. Funnier n hell! Great to be an exmo and get to rediscover the world and what I missed!

Well ya know it's hard to beat semi-kosher Sarah Silverman for sluttish sisterly shenanigans.

By the time I was in high school, my parents didn't care at all what I watched. However, I have a TBM cousin who's convert mom (aunt by marriage) who is so insanely TBM that I was dead shocked that she let my cousin watch 90210 when it was initially on the air. This was the aunt that tried to convince my dad that my nephew was possessed by a demon. So I don't know how in the hell my cousin got away with watching it. :/

He used yo have a show on E! And it was pretty funny. I like that he goes where others won't because they are too 'appropriate'. On the other hand, he shouldn't do it as another poster said, just because smut sells....

Used to listen to his morning show on the radio in high school and then during early morning work commute back in the mid to late 80s in NY. Stern was hilarious.

Good times.

I will agree that shut sells but I am going to have to stick up for my man Howard a bit. He really is one of the best interviewers out there. He has a very loyal and devoted audience and because of that he attracts some big guests. And where else can you hear a 90 minute uninterrupted conversation with any of these celebrities? With that amount of time he can really dive into different aspects rather than the superficial 10 minutes you would get on Leno or Letterman.

I'm glad to see Howard Stern on the board. I've been a huge fan for over 15 years. I love his commentary because he's not afraid to speak whats on his mind. He's grossy mischaracterized as a misogynist and racist by non-fans, but if you "get him", you'll find he's a compasionate and progressive person. It's just his filthy mouth that throws a lot of people. He, along with Bill Maher and Christopher Hitchens, that gave me the courage to "come out of the closet" as an athesist (I'm a nevermo).

A few weeks ago, he had the "hottest mother and daughter" beauty pageant contest. Both pairs of moms and daughters were from Utah and both pairs were ex- or Jack Mormons! What are the chances? It was a fascinating hour of radio.

Stern didn't comment on Mormonism, but I'm sure he throws it in the garbage bin of other religions.

Baba Booey!

Selling with smut reached its pinnacle with the E broadcasts. Coercing come-ly young starlets like Carmen Electra and Julia Roberts to ride the sybian. Watching old Julie orgasm was pure porno paydirt.

Too bad Howard never coaxed the comely Miss Marie O to show us her big O.

:o)

I played a Halloween Gig, masquerading as Howard Stern.

I was a big hit at the party...

All I did was say, in a deep voice, "Show me yer tits!"

I really don't care for his style.

I like him but haven't listened to him in years. What channel is that on SAT radio?
