And I say "morgbot", not a "TBM", because for most people who are here being a TBM is not an option. So my TBM wife tells me I have essentially betrayed her by not being a TBM, or, perhaps, pretend-a-TBM. So I've been pondering why is it so difficult to pretend to be a TBM. I tried to be one for years, and as time went by it became more and more difficult to pretend I believe in TSCC doctrine. At some point the weight of the truth becomes more significant.

What do you think? I know that some people here continue to go along with the family, and others simply can't take it anymore.

Why is it so difficult?

Maybe it's that pesky "integrity" thing.

Exmormons don't lose their desire for a consistent reality. We reject the Mormon model, but that doesn't mean we accept anything goes. We simply don't want to play house anymore. It's unfair to tell an astronomer he has to pretend to believe in a flat Earth and is required to attend flat Earth meetings just to appease someone else.
