The history of the peep stone would astound the most sober of minds. George Washington used this very stone to translate the constitution from God. He would roll the stone in his tri-corner hat and press his face to the felt. This he did while wearing his Masonic apron. Earlier, in the mists and fog banks around the meridian of time, the seer stone glowed in the warm and lively interior of a Jaredite barge. No doubt many fine tales were told and songs sung in the light of the stone. Of course the stone's final purpose was the translation of the gospel, even the Book of Mormon. We are blessed with this fine rock of ages.
