As someone who leans toward the agnostic, maybe atheist side of things, yuck. Public education should not endorse a particular religion. Yes, teach kids to be good people. Yes, teach values. Yes, teach integrity, kindness, empathy, charity... Yes, teach about world religions in sociology and theology classes, but do not have an official school religion.

Whose God? The Muslim God? The Christian God? The Jewish God? Materialism? This assumes a lot and worse, gives the power of God to school leaders, which has the opportunity to end poorly.

the children must not have really cared for god in the schools in the first place, or the halls and playgrounds would be filled with personsl prayers, and prayer circles. No one ever said that students coukd not pray in school voluntarily.
