I'm on a mobile device, and every night after about 11 o'clock, I can't get this site to come up. The blue loading bar will just stay at about halfway forever. Is it my device, or this site? Has anyone else had problems?

Might be backing up data at the ISP, a problem local to your area, even.

It happens to me too about the same time at night.

I figure I/S is doing a super human job as it is and I should go to bed instead of spending so much time on the site, which I enjoy too much perhaps!

I don't think it's a local problem.

I am in another time zone, and it happens at the "same" time (given that this is another time zone) every night here, too.

I think it's just some kind of regular maintenance, done at the same time (which is a different clock time, depending on our individual time zones) once every twenty-four hours.

For me it happens after 1:00 a.m. I try to check one last time, before I go to bed and it won't come up.

The ISP does server maintenance. When it strikes depends on your time zone. On the east coast, it now seems to be around 1 A.M. or so. If you've just hit "Post Message" and the board goes into server maintenance mode, let it be. The chances are the post will go through once the board is operational again. Otherwise you wake up to double and triple posts.

I just thought it was too much traffic as Mormons were doing their usual RfM and porn site visits.

This drives me bonkers. In the morridor, the site issues happen between 1100 and 1200, the only hour of my day I get to spend on the web. Why not schedule the maintenance at something like 3:00 am?

Because this is an active, global board, and it's ALWAYS going to be between ll00 and 1200 SOMEWHERE...it just happens that, by geographical chance, the "somewhere" for the 1100-1200 hour is your time zone.

It hits at a very inconvenient local time for me too, in my own time zone...so I'm not making light of your problem...just explaining that this is the "why."

Yes, it's global, but if I was a betting person (wait, I am!) I would say that there's a majority of people on this site that live in the Morridor. I second the idea to move it to 3am mountain standard time.

Why every night? Other sites arent down that often.

That is my question. There are no big graphics on this site, or really anything that should take much maintenance.

I would understand it happening to Amazon or like sites, but in our little corner of the interwebz this seems quite excessive.

It happens here at around 10:00 PDT. I thought the problem was on my end.

Cleared everything we can. Now kicked up to WingNet.

I will have our ISP look into it again. We are in Tennessee east coast time so the 1 am time here may be some regular maintenance. 2 am oops

I've had the same thing happen on my phone. So I just decide to go to bed for the night! Problem solved!!

it is 11pm when Jeesus always appears in the temples and no one actually sees him, only evidence he was there. So at 11pm Jeesus is screwing with all of us and making the web site do funny stuff. but no one ever sees him because like in the temple, he's a tricky sumbitch.

Why are you trying to get on RfM at 11 p.m. when you should be listening to Coast to Coast A.M. and hearing stories about government conspiracies and Martian anal probes??
