Attempts to discredit apostates and the work of the Strengthening the Members Committee only serve to hurt the goals of TSCC. Destroying any one, 10, or even 10,000 apostates will do nothing to increase the strength of the church and in fact damages the church and its reputation (what little is left of that). There seems to be a belief that challenges to Mormonism are based on a few people or a few groups of people. Nothing could be further from the truth. Society has changed immensely and it is the culture of Western civilization itself that has made religious beliefs of many varieties non-essential. It is not a matter of people being anti-Mormon or anti-religion, it is a matter of religion not being relevant in many people's lives.

The problem is not those who leave. The problem is Mormonism itself and this fact eludes those left in the church. Changing truth and facts are not possible. The only thing that can be changed, if that is even possible, is for the church to change to become more relevant given the present realities of life.
