They settled Utah Territory.... Shit... read some history... It is not all about the Tyrant Brigham Young.... There is a history, largely about destitutes, who built a life despite led by Tyrant like BY.
Do You live in Utah? Some of bthem are certeinly living none of that.... I'd give my two million dollar business up just to live as free as some of them..... Yea...and they are active Mormnons....
My father and his family. We fled a lot of pitchforks and torches. The townsfolk murmured against Daddy, and he fancied himself a martyr. Their kids beat me up, and I didn't feel very righteous for it. I testify that my patriarchal line consists of narcissistic scolds who pissed off their neighbors and communities.
"But every night Joseph Smith would come around, and lay their daughters down."
Maybe...maybe not...as it's been said he got tons of action at the local Nauvoo whore-houses where the Ship Capatains plying the mighty Mississippi frequented.
Religious a-holes that have a superiority complex. We are seeing it today with nutbags that believe that doG gave them some sh!t site during the writing of some bronze age writing that they learned from their neighbors from the east.
Worse than that the US has to send munitions and money to these nutbags. How did that happen??
Why didn't the US fund UT beyond the BLM and USFS and NPS and Medicaid/medicare funds beyond what they paid in to these funds??? Oh wait UT is a drain on the federal gov't.....no way.
Is israil a drain on the us???? Does mossad conduct operations in conjunction with the cia on american soil??? I don't know...
From what I understand about American history, they're (meaning people chased out of every place they settled) also called pilgrims. From my limited outside view (I freely admit that.) the story of the pilgrims is something that many Americans feel deeply attached to. And it is highly integrated into what they believe it means to be an American.
I suspect that the stories of Mormon pioneers benefit greatly and often run parallel to the pilgrim stories. (I'm not saying they're the same but may often be used to create parallels that cast them into a more favourable light.) What's more American than fleeing religious persecution?
p.s. Once again I'm typing this on my phone so please excuse typos etc. :-)
But they weren't fleeing for religious freedom. They already had religious freedom. They were fleeing because they were criminals and the local towns people and law enforcement did not want a breeding group of criminalS infesting the land.
