The other thread on the Holy Ghost got me thinking...

When you NEED his help and guidance, let's say that you find yourself in a tempting situation...because you find yourself in a bad situation...because he can't countenance evil in any way he FLEES.

You have to be good to have the companionship of the Holy Ghost right? Yet we all sin and fall short of perfection. God cannot tolerate sin. The Holy Ghost is part of the Godhead and must therefore avoid sin. Therefore when you get into a situation where he might be helpful...HE'S GONE!

Now hopefully the light of Christ will get you through...

Or is it AFTER you have committed the sin? Let's say that you inadvertently find a naughty website while browsing the web. How long is he with you? The first second telling you don't look, or the first minute? or after looking at 20 images?

I mean it's not much of a useful gift if you can't use it when you actually need it to help you the most is it?

Kind of like a bank that only lends money to people who don't need it.
