then he states that "Nothing is known about the DNA that Lehi, Sarah, Ishmael and others brought to America".

Hilarious.
Of course there is not going to be any evidence of DNA or haplogroups for fictitious persons.
I could make a much better case for the genetic variation and haplogroup of Harry Potter.

The LDS "topic" on DNA is following the model of the tobacco companies on lung cancer.
Despite massive evidence showing that smoking tobacco *does* cause lung cancer, the tobacco companies tried (and in some ways are still trying) to simply seed "doubt" about the evidence.

Oh, it's not conclusive. The scientists are biased. There may be other causes we don't know about. Even if it sometimes does cause cancer, that doesn't mean it always does. That was the tobacco company approach, so they could continue to sell their product.

Oh, the DNA evidence isn't conclusive. The scientists are biased. There may be other DNA we don't know about, and some of it may be Israelite anyway. We don't know about Lehi's DNA. Even if there's no sign of Israelite DNA in the Americas, that doesn't mean there wasn't some at some point and it "diffused out." That's the church's approach, so they can continue to sell their product.
