I so agree with you on this. I learned about it in my social psychology class and it is the basis for so many of the problems regarding our relationship with the church.
We quickly form opinions and then look for evidence to justify our belief.
Learning that we are not naturally rational is important knowledge. We need to understand how this works as it explains so much about human behavior: prejudice, bigotry, intolerance, jealousy, etc..
