"By June 1844, when Joseph died, approximately 29 men and 50 women had entered into plural marriage, in addition to Joseph and his wives."
My math may be shaky, but even if each polygamous man had only two wives, some of the 50 wives must have been doubling up on husbands as well. Is there some other explanation?
Only two date to before Horny Joe's inglorious death. That leaves more HJ-era polyandry, unconnected to HJ or Briggy, still on the table. Does a list exist?
I only know of Zina Huntington Jacobs Smith Young (mouthful, I know - but, it's complicated :)).
Zina was married to her husband Henry when she married JS. After JS's death, she was still married to Henry when she married BY. I am not aware of any other polyandrous unions beyond JS, but I haven't really researched much beyond JS either.
