Polygamy essay and others due to T.V. shows (Sister Wives)?

My sister the TBM, pointed out that "Sister Wives" and "My Five Wives" have probably had more non-mormons searching for LDS teachings and history than anything else. (She also loves "19 kids and Counting"; while I'm disgusted and hate that family.

I explained that this might be true. But I still believe it's due to laws being enacted to prepare for Gay marriage; and also I remember that they now have a "weak" anti-polygamy law in UT.

So there may be multiple reasons, but I don't believe that the Q15 are running the corporation anymore, and as it has been pointed out. Lawyers and P.R. people are slithering there wares and ways into the world.
