So the D & C and Spencer Kimball both say that each time we sin, all of the past repented sins come back in numbers, so that we accumulate greater and greater guilt with each passing day.
So doing the math, if a person sins once a week from age 8 to 70, a sin at age 70 would have the weight of 3224 guilts accumulated. What if that 70 year old died suddenly after sinning, not having the ability to repent and consult the bishop?
A member would be at a great advantage dying suddenly at age 23, at the end of Sacrament Meeting, one week after a temple marriage, wearing a fresh pair of garments.
