From what I've seen and heard, being a Mormon bishop would be about two kingdoms lower than outer darkness. That would suck to have to keep after other harried people, grill men, women and children about their private lives and counsel the handful of fringe types who seem to extrude from the woodwork like sap.
Anyone who would want to be an unpaid Mormon bishop is as indecipherable to me as reformed Egyptian.
Their wives want them to be bishops. The men don't want it, but it gives the mormon princess tons of status and martyr points (having to take care of the kids alone while daddy is serving the lord).
