The LDS church lost Joseph Smith's translation of the king James version of the bible to the RLDS church. They published it as simply "Holy Scripture" or so my copy is titled.

As a result, for many decades the LDS church used the King James version.

Around 1979 the LDS church came out with an "Annotated" bible that contained Joseph's corrections, mostly as foot notes, though large corrections are in an appendix including 4 pages of corrections to Genesis, 3 pages correcting Mathew, 3 pages correcting Luke, The entire first chapter of John is rewritten,

I rarely saw any use of these corrections in published church materials. In fact I often saw "incorrect" material used. When I challenged this I was told that "as long as the spirit of the message is conveyed, the actual words don't matter"

Not using Joseph's translation was one of the heaviest items on my shelf.
