shouldn't Mormons believe that the Founding Fathers were evil??

When I was a Mormon I always heard about how inspired the founding fathers were, and how they founded the USA so that the truth could be restored. Yay, George Washington! Hooray, Thomas Jefferson! Yippee, John Adams!

Oh wait, except there's that pesky ol' 12th Article of Faith:
"We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law".

So could someone please help me understand in what way the Founding Fathers fighting the revolution would qualify as "being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates" and "obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law?"

The 12th A of Faith became truth later.

Truth is truth only after holy consensus. It lasts until holy con sensus repeals it, according to well established Mormon tradition.
