There is a family in my ward that proudly pays their tithing on fraudulently obtained funds. It is not on the scale that has been found with some of the more prominent Mormon fraudsters (e.g. Blackwelder and Merriman. I will leave Joseph Smith and Brigham Young off of this list as they were never convicted). However, it seems to be a common problem among TBMs on both a large and small scale.

Well, in my experience, money is money to the Church - they will take it with no laundering needed or required!

Donating ill-gotten funds to the Morg is the easiest way to launder it. Come tax time, one can simply pretend that it was paid out of a legitimate salary *and* reap the write-off benefits.
