James 1:27 "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the...widows in their affliction..."

This has always bothered me about Mormonism and particularly as a missionary. Being a missionary was not about providing service it was about selling Mormonism and increasing numbers. Every six months or so, we provided true service but that was only for a few hours before we had to return to our door-to-door salesmen activities.

The same problem is found in everyday Mormonism in that TBMs feel that they are fulfilling this scripture in James by sitting in church, doing genealogy, and other similar activities that do nothing to improve the lot of those around them. The same problem that was exhibited by the Pharisees; praying on the street corners and engaging in very public (and useless) displays of false piety.

Mormonism is BUSY WORK; going in circles; being told and feeling you are "okay" now (thinking you are good enough, that there is nothing left to do, that it is all downhill from here) and somehow believing that you are going to live happily ever after [just because you are Mormon affiliated].

Mormonism is "window dressing": the real treat is looking out the windows, flinging the doors open, and feeling the fresh air and sunshine (truth) and getting out before the door hits you in the back.

Mormonism removes any purities you have remaining, strips you of your religion, and puts you on a never ending treadmill that is constantly sped up, with nothing to hold on to, and no off switch - unless you pull the plug... and realize it's just a bunch of hot air anyway. It takes away what is most important (common relationships) and will never amount to more than a hill of beans. FARTS!XXX! IT STINKS.

Mormoni is a foggy mirror and in no way reflects your true self.
