Looks like they aren't keeping their commandments. Hardly a surprise, since celibacy is not natural or normal.

...In my hometown. In its infancy, nuns ran a sanitarium alongside the priest who built it for his ailing mother.

At one point, one of the nuns became pregnant and hanged herself in the solarium. It's rumoured she still haunts the solarium.

I'll never understand why enforced celibacy is the answer to purity and spirituality.

A family in my ward lived in and were the keepers of the museum and I even spent the night there, but never saw the nun.
Fun, spooky stuff, but not in the dark when you're a child and having to help check the rooms and doors to make sure it's all locked up tight, lol.

Nice. Are you from Europe? I don't think there are any castles in the U.S.A. so I was wondering. Anyway, that sounds a bit like the old "say Bloody Mary in the mirror three times in the dark and she'll appear."

A few in Colorado, including my hometown. The Mormon keeper told a couple of spooky stories, including one where a pitcher of water just decided to rise and suspend itself in front of her in the modern kitchen built in the east wing. I have my doubts, but still an amusing story to relay to others.

ETA: I was mistaken about the nuns and the priest living alongside each other. I've heard various versions of the whole history and forget what the actual timeline is.

That's pretty cool

There are a few castles in the USA... there's one in Port Chester, NY, that used to be the home of the Museum of Cartoon Art.

She laughingly told us that when she was young, some of the nuns would occasionally put on weight, and have to wear larger habits. But then after a few months, they would suddenly lose the weight and fit back into their smaller habits.

I guess that's why Catholics need orphanages. :-)

I have a fairly good alibi.
