But I'm not going back to tscc because after 16 years I learned that it's feigned wholesomeness & positivity. Maybe I'll try the Universalist Unitarians. I've heard good things about them.

Because I spend so much time at the gym, working there, the music they play is 90% dreadful and negative & gets stuck in my head. I miss the days when I was full of hymns & light.

Must find it somewhere again.

The hymns you think are wholesome are about giving yourself as a slave to a lie.

Some of the nicest, most genuine and honest people swear like troopers, drink, and tell dirty jokes.

The unwholesome people I know are all religious. They lie to themselves and condemn others for not believing lies. They hate and judge.

You might not like some contemporary songs because they sing about sex, but Mormonism is all about heterosexual eternal fucking and breeding. I find that distasteful and irresponsible when a few crazy cultists try to breed like cockroaches while here on Earth. It's also an idea of hell, if you're a woman.

If you want wholesomeness, join a group like Landcare and get together with people who plant trees.

Try going to a community Christian church. I go sometimes and it really resonates with me. Its more like a Sunday school class with great music.

Go to a few and see if you connect with one.

The music is very upbeat because a band plays, but is very worshipping.

I'm not interested in an old school church.

Very cool.
Never really talks about god.
Talks a lot about being.
Consciousness.
Connecting with nature.
All good.

Long before I converted I was given The Optimist Creed on a plaque as a gift. I didn't understand it's power until much later.

The Optimist Creed

Promise Yourself

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.

To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

My daughter gave me a little locket with the word: "Too strong for fear" on it.
It's a good reminder!

Unitarianism is rather DIY. So even though there are wholesome, positive people there (like there are at any number of places in the world) you sort of need to bring it to the party yourself.

And it could be you need a different job rather than a different religion.

I'm not much for the self help books, cute phrases, or magic methods to live by. So, I set my own goals for what I want in life and then I work towards them. My motto is: Never level off.

I find that brings a full range of happiness, sadness, frustration, and fulfillment. So I feel just like everyone else and become very connected to being human--the best thing in the Universe.
