also mentioned in the BoM (Christ's words);

the anti-divorce teaching / 'doctrine' is:

-mentioned in the Old Testament & New Testament (Christ's words)

-probably the most ignored teaching in Mormonism, which:

-alienates the Most fervent 'believers' due to:

-the often-associated Hatred & Lies which:

-the LDS church often turns a deaf ear to.

'Let me tell you': the LDS LOVE a TBM vs. Doubter/Apostate divorce, no matter the other issues (or Lack of them).

Great bumper sticker! Those that need to understand it, probably won't

Haven't you been told? Luke 16:18 is a message of love. You just have to "interpret" it to mean "marriage is bliss". Well at least so I am told.

We only care about that scripture that says you can't "kill" a microscopic embryo. Don't ask me for chapter and verse but I know it's in there somewhere.

Only because they don't have oil.

Bible also says that:

-a married woman shouldn't leave her husband

-an unbelieving husband is sanctified by his (believing) wife

-if a woman leaves her husband, she should be reconciled to her husband -or- remain unmarried

ALL OF WHICH LDS, Inc 'conveniently' ignores.

I think that the LDS accepted divorce (IRL) because of Polyg. During Polyg, I'm guessing that some or many of the wives felt short-changed, became despondent/depressed, which was a blot on (prominent) husbands reputation in the community; so, the decision-makers (PH males) decided to allow them rather than keep an unhappy woman in his home.

It's been posted that BY charged couples ($10 ?) for granting a divorce.

In a practical matter, the scriptures don't make a distinction between the initiator of a divorce and the spouse who opposes it, sought Healing (thru Repentance & Forgiving).

The Bible is almost as stupid as the BOM (indeed, a lot of the BOM is direct plagiarism of the Bible).

Mormons would say that it is translated incorrectly. But the Bible is pretty stupid sometimes, and Paul, of course, was merely speaking as a man and has been trumped by a living prophet and all that other BS.

I am given to understand that he translated it from English, which he didn't speak very well. Linguistically, it was probably a huge challenge, but he was led by revelation.
