Here's the line from Deseret News.
"Between 50 and 100 people gathered outside the stake center to support Dehlin."
http://www.deseretnews.com/article/865621489/LDS-stake-holds-disciplinary-council-for-Mormon-critic-John-Dehlin.html

Here's from the AP.
About 200 supporters held a vigil for Dehlin on Sunday night outside the church building in North Logan. Many of them were still there when he left the meeting, he said.
http://news.yahoo.com/mormon-facing-ouster-says-hes-likely-excommunicated-215527868.html

Here's from the Salt Lake Tribune.
"Earlier on Sunday evening, a crowd of more than 200 supporters greeted Dehlin with respectful applause when he arrived."

So either someone at Deseret News can't count or at least a hundred people were camouflaged or invisible. The corporation flat out lies, over & over. I mean the whole thing about the decision having to be prayed over until a determination is made, is so outrageous and false because I'm sure the corporation leadership had already made their decision days or weeks ago.

The women were probably hidden behind the garbage truck that the DN people arrived in.

The SP, HC, John Dehlin and his witnesses make up about half of 50.

Seriously though, I saw some pictures and it looked a lot closer to 200 easily.

Yes, I saw some pictures which seemed to show only about 50 people. And other pictures, no doubt taken at a different time, which showed something more like 200.

So I suppose that it's possible to report both numbers and be accurate. Sort of. Depending on what time you checked.

The thing is, if you are going to report a *total* number of people who showed up, it's (oh, darn, what is the term? --- oh, yeah, I remember now) truthful to report the *total* number. Not the number that was there at one point in time, say, really early, or maybe really late....

They should have said "several people short of 200".

Ha!!! I got it...

I loved that line from the essay especially because it was so ridiculously misleading.

Those mormons have a hell of a time counting when it comes to counting people.

They can't seem to get it right when it comes to their congregation. They've been off by a few million for years now.

THIS! They can't count their own members properly. They also way overestimate the number of "anti-Mormons" persecuting them. They can't agree on how many wives Joseph had or even what year he saw God in the Sacred Grove. The church is very, very bad at math and always go for the number that suits them the best.

No worries. I'm sure they'll publish a correction. And the Mos are always quick to apologize when they're wrong, aren't they?

Oh, I'm sure Oaks will be the first at the mike to make the statement, "The church doesn't "seek apologies," he said, "and we don't give them."

via email, not comments...

He's blaming his camera man for the miscount and asked why I was attacking him personally.

Well his names on the article?

He also stated that J.D. asked us to be civil to each other. So he turned the "sin" over to me for not being civil.
