faith before answers to prayer

why would God want faith before answering prayers, like tbms say? did anyone else try and try to have faith to get some response from God?

Me: God, I'm needing peace to get through things...

God: well you need at least a 9 on the faith scale for me to help. You're at a 7.5 now. sorry.

Me: but wouldn't you helping me actually help my faith increase?

God: uh...sure..

Me: last time I prayed for peace, you didn't help. how am I supposed to have faith if nothing happens? if nothing ever happens?

God: uh, gotta go now...

God is really busy these days.......you know, with all the fixing he's doing around the world...........he's tired too.

Catch 22 of Mormonism (and a lot of religion in general)

You have to have faith or it doesn't work. So, if you try it and it doesn't work then YOU are to blame.
