Conference? Or even broadcast it on TV for who cannot make it and hastes crowds? My TBM dad might go and drag me with him! Two hours of boredom, screaming and crying kids/ babies bored and those awful cold metal chairs!!

The don't say who will speak because they want everybody to assume it must be God himself, or maybe the prophet or at least an apostle. This will get lots of little morg butts into the seats and make the church look more true.

That's also why they don't put it on TV. It costs money to put things on TV and then they can't show off their parking lot full of cars and make people think that they don't have to actually show up for this.

Whoever it is. It will be dull and irrelevant to your life. But maybe you get in some good, quality time with your dad on the way over and back.

Forget TV. It wouldn't cost anything to post it to the web. Then all those TBM can send it to their friends.

How would we be informed?

Doesn't BYU TV reach where SII lives? Most of the IMW?

I thought BYU has an inside with Mormon broadcasters & cable.

There is competition and jockeying among the apostles and attendance is one of the ways people have a "vote." We can't have that democracy creeping in, now can we?

Same thing with the authors of the essays. They don't want to take responsibility OR credit, just standard cut worship and mysterious veneration for "apostles" regardless of any demonstration of worthiness, inspiration, etc.

God forbids comparison because that implies that the units are individuals. Hail to the Collective!

They want everyone to be all excited and wondering what the big surprise will be. Has Jesus returned? Is the world ending the prophet has a big announcement to make? Will women be getting their own wards and have their own version of the PH? What oh what is the big big secret they're about to divulge?

Do you want a big surprise? It's probably Big, Important, President Elder Disciple Man. Don't you want to hear him (and you know it's a "him") give you his pearls of wisdoms and bons mots?

Why do you have to go? Are you a minor? Can you bring your smart phone? Most people get through church through the blessing of apps.
