A TBM relative of mine just came home from church. I browsed his church bulletin and discovered that his ward does not ask for volunteers to clean the building. On the first Sunday bulletin of the month they assign 4 families for each Saturday of the month. It also states that if you are unable to perform the assignment, YOU are responsible for finding a replacement. Do most wards use this method or is this unique?

They did that in our ward. I just ignored it.

They can say it's your responsibility, but it's their building. If it doesn't get clean, it's LDS, Inc. that suffers.

What are they doing to do, fire you from your unpaid servitude?
