If I drove a convertible with bare shoulders and the banned number, it would be twice the scandal...

666 must be off the list.

Mormons tend to steal Darwin sign fish magnets from cars also. (True incident.) Stealing for Jesus is not stealing?

Makes you wonder how the pure and delightsome understand what 69 refers to.

Back in the late 70's and early 80's, I worked at VW dealership in SLC and for a period of time, handled the licensing for all the cars we sold.

Utah had started issuing vanity plates and we had a new customer by the name of Dennis Ficker, who lived in Park City. He wanted a new Utah plate with his last name on it, and the DMV denied his application, saying it was too close to a word that had a "prurient connotation".

I don't remember exactly what happened, but as I recall Mr. Ficker had lived back east somewhere. The state there denied his application and he took them to court. It took them less than 60 days to allow him to have the plate with his name.

After Utah denied him, he took in the paperwork from his court case and it took Utah less time to allow his application.

The license plate I'd like:

IF6WAS9

It's the title of a Jimmy Hendrix song that has naught to do with sex.

Seventies are one step past 69.

I was in SLC in the late 70s/early 80s when an RM was dating a close relative. His vanity plates (from Utah) read: EFFEWE.

I was surprised that he had such a plate as well as very surprised that they let him have it...

Not just Utah. Lots of states have an identical restriction.

The very act is nothing less or more then all other sexual encounters with your partner, love, friend. I grew up in the era that giggled every time 69 was mentioned. So silly..
