Greetings, Space Cadets! The Thunderbirds are back in a new show called "Thunderbirds Are GO!" (the same title as the 1965 feature film). It's not too bad, has lots of action and it's CGI with model sets instead of puppets. The show is only thirty minutes this time. The only voice actor to come back is David Graham as Parker. "Brains" is now South Asian and has an Indian accent. Tin-Tin is using her given name Kayo now but her father is not on the show.

There is room for improvement:

1. Where's Jeff Tracy? He's been written out of the show and is classified as MIA. His mother (Grandma) is filling in for him.

2. The outfits are the same in each episode and never change. The upgraded IR uniforms are très cool though and look like the "X-Men" cinematic versions.

3. The original Lady Penelope was described as "an advertisement for British fashion." The new Penelope is stuck wearing the same red trouser suit all the time. They've made her much younger as she's no longer the romantic interest of the now absent Jeff Tracy. She's also now porting a pup around a'la Paris Hilton -- a miniature English bulldog.

4. The pink Rolls-Royce doesn't have the Rolls-Royce logo now. They probably wanted too much money.

5. The shorter length doesn't allow much time for character or story development. The action is there with the same countdown announcer, Thunderbird vehicles, etc. but it's lacking in depth. The old show was for both kids and adults to watch together. This one is just for kids.

I also enjoyed Stingray as a boy. The lovely and mute Marina.

Visited the studio in Slough where the original Thunderbirds (as well as Stingray and Fireball XL5) was made. Though they shot with puppets, scenes often took hours to set up just like a live action movie. Some of those special effects people worked on films like Superman and were extremely skilled.
